Climate change and more extreme weather events have started to affect people and industries across the globe. Decisive measures need to be implemented to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement (keeping global warming to well below 2°C). At the same time, we need to adapt to a changing environment already today with more natural disasters such as droughts, floods and storms.

This challenge explores how can we reduce greenhouse-gas emissions in global trade of agriculture goods while also reducing the exposure to physical climate risks. We need your brilliant ideas to future-proof global food supply chains!

During this challenge you can use global trade databases to analyze imports and exports of agriculture products (e.g. corn, soy, coffee, ...) and country-level risk profiles of the exporting countries to find optimal ways how to reduce emissions during transport while also making sure that the production is less exposed to climate risks such as droughts and floods.
